Royal Baby
There is much media attention being given to the child to be born to Kate and Wills, e.g. what title will this heir to the throne have, etc. There is one thing that puzzles me. By the law of most (European and American) lands, and, sadly, by the doctrine of most churches these days, whatever it is that the Duchess of Windsor is carrying inside her is not a baby or a child but a tissue blob that could be aborted anytime now without legal consequence or moral scruples. How can the world call this fetus a child when, de facto, the growing thing in her womb is not officially a child until it is born (if then)? It seems strange that a royal fertilized egg immediately gets status as a human being, and a very privileged human being at that, while the baby bump of a commoner is not quite human. Would that all life was so respected and cherished!

Pastor Eric -- I started fighting the "Abortion Wars" in the mid-'70s. I finally gave up in exhaustion. I can hardly stand to read about it now. Even praying about it is painful.
I know this is off-topic, but when I read about the Royal Family, I think of Henry VIII and marvel at how many millions of people can follow a religion started by that guy.
The church began by Henry VIII's sexual issues will be ended by V. Gene Robinson's sexual issues.
Ha! You could be right.
Hope you don't mind -- I just posted your "Royal Baby" post on my blog -- I called it "The Little Prince."
I was forced to read The Little Prince in elementary school. It teaches that we only see correctly when we see with our hearts. That's a dangerous thought. Should we really let our emotions rule everything? No way! Lot's of evil comes out of the human heart: envy, anger, revenge. etc. That's why we have objective courts of law and, well... God's objective Word.
Oh -- I just pulled that title out of the air -- it seemed to fit. I never read the book.
But I agree -- "Love is God" has become the order of the day. People have forgotten true Faith.
